Description

Learn about natural resources and the economy. Mineral concentrates, sulphur, potash, wood products, grains and coal, that are produced in BC and other parts of Canada, are exported from here, in bulk, each year. They provide the world with raw materials, drive our economy, and return as goods we buy every day.

This half-day cruise will travel along the North side of Burrard Inlet to take a close look at the terminal operations and learn how Canada's natural resources are transported and traded with a vast network of world economies.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives from several of the waterfront terminals and listen as they share their knowledge and expertise about natural resources and the port industry. This is a great opportunity to observe activities in this dynamic place and to consider where the materials come from, where they go, and who plays a roll in making it all work.

Schedule:

9:00 am - Board the Harbour Princess - arrive and check-in
9:30 am - Harbour Princess Sails (sharp!)
1:30 pm - Return to Harbour Cruises

Registration priority will be given to teachers that have not attended this field trip in the past. Please be aware that if you have attended in previous years and still choose to register, you will moved to the wait list until a spot becomes available.
